This article will walk you through how to add Products to Maui.

Flowhub Maui offers users a variety of workflows for adding products. Products are the home base for information about each of the items you sell in your dispensary. Products allow you to add variants to products like shirt sizes, dosage sizes, flavors, and more to keep your product catalog precise and organized. One product can be associated with multiple Inventory items because Inventory items might have different Regulatory IDs tracked by your state reporting system.

This article will explain how to add products and their variants and provide examples of variants in popular categories. For more information on adding products, watch the video below:

Add Products

The fields required will vary depending on category and state.

  1. Go to the Menu: Click the menu in the top left and select Inventory.

  2. Select Products: Click Products on the purple bar at the top.

  3. Add New Product: Click the NEW PRODUCT button.

  4. Choose a Category: Pick a category from the drop-down menu (required fields will appear).

  5. Enter Product Details (anything with an asterisk* is required):

    • Name: Follow a consistent naming format across all stores (e.g., Brand Name THC Content).

    • External Display Name: Optional. Enter a different name for online menus.

    • Brand: Optional. Manufacturer information. It is helpful for the future when looking at reporting or deals.

    • Type: Optional. Specify subcategories like Pre-Roll, Joint, Gummy, Wax, or Badder. It is helpful for the future when looking at reporting or deals.

    • Description & Image: Optional. This will show on online menus.

    • UPC: Optional. A barcode/sku code (not usually used for cannabis).

  6. Enter Weight/Volume:

    • Enter the total weight for packs of joints (e.g., for a 5-pack of 1g joints, enter 5).

    • Select the correct UOM (unit of measure) (e.g., Grams).

    • If selling Bulk Flower, select Sell by Weight to avoid entering the weight/volume

  7. Par Level: Optional. Set the minimum stock before reordering.

  8. Pricing:

    • Enter a specific price manually

    • Set cost per gram or unit.

    • For specific locations or customer groups, select ADD LOCATION AND/OR GROUP SPECIFIC PRICE.

  9. Add Variations: Add variations for the product if needed.

Variations

Variations are used when you have the same brand and type, but different weights or flavors. Variations must be used when Packing Down Bulk Flower into Pre-Packaged Flower or Pre-Rolls.

  1. Add Another Variant: Click ADD ANOTHER VARIANT. The first variant will use the details entered earlier.

  2. Name the Variant: Enter a name for the new variant (e.g., 1g Cart, 5g Budder, or 100mg Edible).

  3. Enter the remaining details of the variation or make a copy of existing variations for quick changes

Note: You can add as many variants as needed!

Here is an example of a variation:

Below is the Name and Category for this product. The Name of the Product is 1906 Plant Based Pills

The variations are listed below:

When Inventory is associated to any of these variations, the name will appear with the variant name at the end of the product name, 1906 Plant Based Pills Bliss.
