Gift cards are a quick and convenient way to encourage repeat business and make gifting easy for customers. This guide will explain how to sell a new gift card through the Flowhub Cashier app.

Sell a Gift Card in Flowhub

  1. Navigate to Cashier

  2. Start a New Sale

    • Begin a new transaction as usual by adding a customer to the cart.

  3. Select Gift Card in the upper right corner

    • Scan the gift card barcode or have Flowhub generate a SKU for you

    • Enter the gift card amount the customer wants to load.

    • Enter the gift card price you want to charge

      • Most of the time, the amount and price will be the same. An example of when this will not be the same is if you are running a deal like purchasing a $50.00 gift card for $40.00.

  4. Add Gift Card to Cart

    • Select the box Print as Barcode if you would like to print a gift card barcode on the label printer. This option is usually selected when selling paper gift certificates instead of gift cards that already have barcodes on them.

  5. Complete the Transaction

    • Take payment and finish the sale.

    • Once payment is complete, the gift card will automatically activate and become available for redemption.

💡 Tip: Encourage customers to keep their card receipt—it contains the card number and transaction details for future reference.
