Email Receipts in Maui

Learn how to email receipts to customers or patients in Flowhub Maui after a sale or from the Sales tab, and configure receipt printing settings.

Flowhub Email Receipts makes it quick and easy to send a digital copy of a transaction receipt to your customer. In this article, we'll guide you through emailing a receipt so your team can offer a convenient, paperless option at checkout or anytime after a sale.


Email a Receipt After a Sale

After completing a transaction, follow these steps to email the receipt directly from the checkout screen:

  1. Complete the transaction by selecting Collect Payment and entering the payment method and your 4-digit PIN.

  2. In the confirmation modal that appears after checkout, select Email Receipt.

    • You will also see options for Print Receipt and Print Exit Labels.

  3. An email entry window will display.

    • If the customer already has an email address saved to their profile, it will auto-populate.

    • If no email is on file, enter the customer's email address manually.

  4. (Optional) Select Save Customer Email to save the entered email address to the customer's profile for future use.

  5. Select Email Receipt to send the receipt to the customer.

💡 Tip: Saving the customer's email during this step means the address will auto-populate the next time you email a receipt to this customer.


Email a Receipt from the Sales Tab

If a customer requests a receipt after leaving the store, or you need to resend one from a past transaction, you can email it from the Sales tab at any time. There is no time limit on this feature.

  1. Navigate to Cashier in Flowhub Maui.

  2. Select Sales across the purple bar at the top of the screen.

  3. Search for the sale by receipt ID or customer name, then select the sale.

  4. Select the Actions dropdown in the upper right corner of the sale detail panel.

  5. Select Email Receipt.

  6. Enter or confirm the customer's email address, then select Email Receipt to send.

💡 Tip: You can also scan a receipt barcode to quickly pull up a specific sale in the Sales tab.


What the Customer Receives

When a receipt is emailed, the customer receives an email from noreply@flowhub.com that includes two things:

  1. A styled receipt in the email body that displays the total amount, a thank-you message, the store name and date, itemized products, discounts, taxes, fees, and totals.

  2. A PDF attachment that matches the printed receipt. This includes the store logo, address, drawer, customer name, date, itemized products, discount and tax breakdowns, loyalty points, a barcode, and a QR code to shop online.


Disable Automatic Receipt Printing

If your store prefers to email receipts instead of printing them, you can disable automatic printing in Store Settings.

  1. Navigate to Store Settings.

  2. Select Printing on the left side of the settings page.

  3. Under At the end of a sale, select the preferred option:

    • Print Receipt & Pop Drawer — A receipt will print and the cash drawer will open after each sale.

    • Pop Drawer Only — No receipt will print, but the cash drawer will open after each sale.

    • Do Nothing — No receipt will print and the cash drawer will not open after the sale.

💡 Tip: Even when automatic printing is disabled, you can still print or email receipts manually from the confirmation screen or the Sales tab.


Frequently Asked Questions

Does emailing a receipt require special permissions?

  • No. Any user with Cashier access can email a receipt. Reprinting a physical receipt does require the appropriate permission, but emailing does not.

What email address does the receipt come from?

  • Emailed receipts are sent from noreply@flowhub.com. If a customer does not see the email, recommend checking their spam or junk folder.

Can I email a receipt for a sale completed days or weeks ago?

  • Yes. There is no time limit. Navigate to the Sales tab, locate the sale, and select Email Receipt from the Actions dropdown.

Is the emailed receipt the same as the printed receipt?

  • The email includes a styled summary in the email body and a PDF attachment. The PDF matches the printed receipt. The email body displays the same transaction details in a slightly different visual layout.

Can I save the customer's email address while emailing a receipt?

  • Yes. When entering the email address, select Save Customer Email to save it to the customer's profile. The address will auto-populate for future transactions.
