Use Drawer Settings to control how your team opens and closes cash drawers (e.g., by denomination or total), and to configure default behaviors tied to drawer workflows.

Print Receipt & Pop Drawer vs. Pop Drawer Only

You can determine whether you want a receipt to print and the drawer to pop open or if no receipt prints and only the drawer opens. The physical cash drawer must be connected to the receipt printer in order for these options to work.

  1. Open the Menu in the upper left and navigate to the Account page in Flowhub.

    1. This will automatically bring you to the Store Settings tab

  2. Select Printing on the left side options

  3. A toggle will appear, allowing you to decide when a physical cash drawer pops open

    • Print Receipt & Pop Drawer - A receipt will automatically print after each sale, and the cash drawer will pop open

    • Pop Drawer Only - No receipt will print, but the drawer will pop open, allowing your staff to give change.

    • Do Nothing - No receipt will print. The drawer will not pop open.

  4. Save All Settings in the upper right corner

Enter Cash Denomination vs. Total Cash

If you'd prefer to enter a single number for the total cash in a drawer instead of by each denomination, you may enable that feature in Store Settings. Here's how:

  1. Open the Menu in the upper left and navigate to the Account page in Flowhub.

    1. This will automatically bring you to the Store Settings tab

  2. Select Multi-Store on the left side options

  3. There is a box with a list of your store(s) that you can select this option for, titled Enter total instead of denominations when opening or closing a drawer.

    • Select the checkbox next to the store where you want to enter the total cash amount.

  4. Save All Settings in the upper right corner

  5. When this setting is enabled, users will only see a "Drawer Total" field instead of each cash denomination when opening and closing Drawers.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What does “Single Drawer Total Input” do?

  • It changes the drawer open/close workflow so users enter one total cash figure, rather than entering counts for each bill/coin denomination.

Can I switch between modes later?

  • Yes. You can return to Drawer Settings at any time to toggle between denomination inputs or total-only inputs.

Do users need extra permissions to see these settings?

  • Yes—roles must be able to edit Store Settings to access and change these settings.

Will old drawers be affected?

  • No. This setting only affects how future drawer open or close screens display input forms; existing drawer data remains intact.

Success! 🎉

You’ve updated your drawer workflow, so your staff will now open and close drawers using your preferred method (single total or per denomination).
