Managing drawers ensures accuracy during daily operations and helps prevent discrepancies. This article guides you through viewing, editing, and monitoring active drawers.

Manage an Open Drawer

  1. Navigate to Drawers from the menu in the upper left corner.

    • A list of drawers (opened or closed) will display.

  2. Select the open drawer to manage.

    • The drawer’s details and status will appear in the panel on the right side of the screen. These options are only available if the User has permission under their Role.

      • Count & Close - Close the drawer for the day and enter final denominations found in the Drawer.

      • Drop - Drop money from the register to the safe. Money is being removed from the balance.

      • Pop Drawer - Open the physical cash drawer without making a payment. This does require a reason and PIN.

      • Pay In - Add money into the register. This adds to the drawer balance.

      • Pay Out - Pay a bill from the register. This deducts money from the register and from the day's revenue.

💡 Tip: To edit a drawer's name, drop trigger balance, or associated rooms, close the drawer first. Editing is only available on closed drawers.

  3. Add or Remove Users from the Drawer

    • Select the Drawer you'd like to add another user to.

      • A drawer can have as many users as you would like.

      • A user can be assigned multiple Drawers.

    • Under "Active Users", select the person icon next to a user's name to remove them from a drawer.

  4. View Drawer Activity on the right panel to see when users have been added/removed, when a drawer was created, opened, closed, etc. This data can also be filtered via date range and exported

Manage a Closed Drawer

  1. Navigate to Drawers from the menu in the upper left corner.

    • A list of drawers (opened or closed) will display.

    • These options are only available if the User has permission under their Role.

  2. Select the closed drawer to manage.

    • Count & Open - Enter the beginning balance for the day and open a drawer.

    • Delete - Delete a drawer so it's no longer able to be used

  3. View Drawer Activity on the right panel to see when users have been added/removed, when a drawer was created, opened, closed, etc.

    • This data can also be filtered via date range and exported

Edit a Closed Drawer

Drawer settings can only be changed while the drawer is closed. This keeps configuration changes from affecting transactions already in progress.

  1. Select the closed drawer.

  2. Select Edit in the right panel.

  3. Update any of the following:

    • Name — for example, Register 1 or POS 2.

    • Drop Trigger Balance — the amount that triggers the red drop reminder.

    • Rooms — which rooms this drawer can sell out of. A drawer can only sell from a room marked For Sale.

  4. Select Save.

💡 Tip: Make edits between shifts. Close the drawer, change the settings, then use Count & Open to start the next session with the new configuration.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can I adjust a drawer’s starting balance mid-shift?

  • No. The starting balance cannot be changed once the drawer is opened.

How can I track activity in real time?

  • View the drawer’s transaction history in the same menu.

Who can edit drawers?

Why can't I edit my drawer while it's open?

  • Drawer editing (name, drop trigger balance, and room assignments) is only available when the drawer is closed. This prevents configuration changes from affecting active transactions. Close the drawer first, make your edits, then reopen it.

Great work! 🥳

The drawer is now updated and ready for continued transactions.
