This article explains how to configure drawer-related access control for different user roles. This ensures staff can only perform drawer operations appropriate for their position.
Drawer Role Permissions
In order to manage any drawers, a user must have the correct permissions.
Open the Menu in the upper left and navigate to the Employee page in Flowhub.
Select Roles across the purple bar at the top.
Select the Role you would like to work on, then select Edit in the panel on the right side of the screen.
Scroll down to the section titled Drawers.
If one of these boxes is highlighted in green, it means this Role has access to:
Can View - The User can view the Drawers tab in Maui and Count & Open a Drawer. No other actions can occur if this is the only setting enabled.
Can Edit - The User can perform the same actions as the Can View settings, and in addition, add/remove users to a drawer, edit a drawer, and close a drawer.
Can Create - The User can perform the same actions as the Can View settings, and in addition, create a new drawer.
Can Delete - The User can perform the same actions as the Can View settings, and in addition, delete a closed drawer.
If one of these check boxes is selected, it means this Role has access to:
View Totals - Allows the User to see the Expected Count when closing the Drawer.
Drop - Drop money from the register to the safe. Money is being removed from the balance.
Pay Out - Pay a bill from the register. This deducts money from the register and the revenue for the day.
Pay In - Add money into the register. This adds to the drawer balance.
Pop Drawer - Open the physical cash drawer without making a payment. This does require a reason and PIN.
Print Receipts - Have a receipt print when a Drawer is opened or closed. View totals must also be selected in order for this to work.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What if a role has only “Can View” enabled?
If only Can View is active, the user can open and count drawers but cannot perform edits, closing, or other actions.
Does “Can Edit” include creating new drawers?
No. Can Edit grants editing, closing, and managing users within an existing drawer, but not creation. Can Create must be enabled for drawer creation.
What is “Drop” vs “Pay Out”?
Drop is for moving money from the drawer to a safe (removing funds). Pay Out is for paying a bill or expense from the drawer (also subtracts funds but is tied to revenue).
Can deleting a drawer remove transaction history?
No — Even if a drawer is deleted, all transaction history will still be stored under in the system and can be found under Analytics.
Success! 🎉
You’ve now configured drawer permissions for the selected role. Users assigned to that role will only see and do what you’ve allowed.
