Flowhub Kiosk makes it simple for customers to browse products, sign in, and place orders directly from an in-store device. This guide explains how to set up Kiosk so the dispensary is ready to offer a seamless self-service experience.
Enable Kiosk
In order to log into Kiosk, please contact Flowhub (help@flowhub.com) and our team will enable this feature for the dispensary. Please note that Kiosk is for Recreational Stores only at this time.
Hardware
Flowhub Maui's Kiosk product is a browser-based application that runs from the URL kiosk.flowhub.com.
Flowhub currently recommends iPads and Windows Surface Pros to run Flowhub Kiosk for ease of setup and user experience.
Android tablets that are running Android 11 have hardware limitations that will prevent installing the Kiosk website as an app on the device, and they are not recommended.
Regardless of the chosen device, the hardware selected to run the Kiosk must be capable of connecting to the Internet and using either Google Chrome or Safari as a web browser.
Assign Ecommerce/Kiosk Permissions
Select Employees from the left menu
Go to Roles across the bar at the top
Select the Role that should have access to edit Ecommerce and select Edit
Assign the Ecomm permission to the necessary employees.
Once assigned, the Ecomm tab will appear in their left-hand navigation (employees might need to log out and log back in to see this change reflected)
Create Kiosk Logins
Each kiosk requires its own login, similar to creating a login for a new employee. A different login is required per Kiosk (e.g., if there are three kiosks, three seperate logins are required). We recommend using an email address that exists/can be accessed/logged into.
Access to the email inbox is required to retrieve the temporary password to log in to each Kiosk for the first time.
β¨ PRO TIP β¨ If the dispensary prefers not to set up additional email addresses for each Kiosk and is using Gmail as the email provider, append "+1" or "+2" to the end of an existing email address to create additional aliases.
For example, if the email address is firstname.lastname@gmail.com and there are two Kiosks, use:
The temporary password will still be sent to firstname.lastname@gmail.com
Set up Kiosk users:
Log into Flowhub via the desktop app or via the browser at app.flowhub.com.
Open the menu on the left side of the screen and navigate to Employees.
In the upper right corner, select New User.
Give each Kiosk a First and Last Name and enter the email address associated with the Kiosk login.
Under the Role and Store Assignments section, select the Store
Then use the dropdown and select the Role Kiosk.
If the role Kiosk is not in the dropdown, first check that the Store is selected on the right before checking the dropdown.
Select Save in the upper right corner to create the Kiosk login.
Check the email associated with the Kiosk login, and use the temporary password in the Flowhub Maui Account Setup email to log into kiosk.flowhub.com for the first time. This will immediately log into the Kiosk; it will not give a prompt to set a new password.
β¨ PRO TIP β¨ : To change the password for the Kiosk User (i.e., not use the temporary password forever), log in using the Kiosk credentials on app.flowhub.com (instead of kiosk.flowhub.com). A new password prompt will appear the first time logging in.
Kiosk login is now set up and can be used to log in to this kiosk.
Repeat the above steps for every Kiosk that needs to be set up.
Select Inventory Rooms for Display on the Kiosk
A Room must be selected to appear on the Kiosk menu for customers to order from. If a room is not selected, then a customer will not see any inventory.
Log into Flowhub via the desktop app or via the browser at app.flowhub.com
Open the menu on the left side of the screen and navigate to Rooms
Select a room that is marked For Sale that should be displayed on the Kiosk
Select Edit in the right panel
Select the Items Visible in Flowhub Menus checkbox
Select Save
Test the Kiosk
Log into kiosk.flowhub.com using one of the Kiosk users
Confirm that:
Inventory is displayed correctly
Ordering workflow functions as expected
Branding elements appear properly
Completion
Kiosk setup is now complete. Customers can browse products, sign in, and place orders directly from the device, creating a faster and more engaging in-store shopping experience.

Q: Can multiple rooms be displayed in Kiosk?
A: Yes. Kiosk displays inventory from any room that is checked Items Visible in Flowhub Menus
Q: Is it possible to hide certain products from Kiosk?
A: Yes. Products can be hidden by assigning that inventory to a room that is not marked Items Visible in Flowhub Menus.
