Before Configuring Printers in Maui:

  1. Please make sure your printers are set up to your hardware and confirm that the printers are working correctly. You can do this by using a program such as Notes or another word processor to test print to both your label printer and receipt printer.

    • This confirms that your printers and terminals are properly connected, and ensures that Maui will be able to locate your printers to allow you to configure them to the app.

    • If you are unable to print to your printers outside of Maui, please note that Flowhub staff is not able to troubleshoot hardware or printer connections. If you've purchased your hardware and support package from our third-party hardware provider, Venture Sourcing Group, don't hesitate to reach out to them directly for assistance with this. Otherwise, you may contact the printer manufacturer for troubleshooting assistance.

  2. If your store's workflow uses an In-Store Order Fulfillment model where order tickets are sent to a back room for fulfillment before payment is collected, and you would like to set up a distinct fulfillment receipt printer from your transactions receipt printer, you will have the ability to select unique printers for each of these in the Maui app.

    • Note: Fulfillment printer connectivity was tested with Star Micronics mC-Print3 and TSP100 models. Tested using fulfillment printer connectivity via Ethernet, Bluetooth and USB, as well as shared network printers on macOS and Windows. Currently, connecting to shared printers from Maui is only supported on macOS and Windows. iPads cannot currently connect to a network-shared printer. Depending on store layout and printer features, some connectivity options may not be viable. Contact your IT provider for assistance in setting up shared network printers.

  3. Please make sure you have downloaded the correct Maui app for your operating system:

Configuring Printers for Mac or iPad Maui App

  1. Log into the Maui app on your Mac or iPad. Do not log into the browser version of Maui (app.flowhub.com).

  2. Locate and select the Printer icon in the upper right corner next to the initials of the user who is currently logged in.

  3. A window will appear allowing you to choose which Printer is your Receipt Printer and which is your Label Printer. If your store uses an In-Store Fulfillment model, you'll be able to configure a Fulfillment Printer as well.

    • If your printers are set up to your computer, they will appear in the dropdown list. Select the correct printer for each and use "Print Test Receipt" and "Print Test Label" to test that Maui prints each as expected.

      • Please note that the Test Receipt and Test Label are default Flowhub versions that do not reflect the name of your dispensary or any of its settings.

    • In the below example, the user has not set up their printers to the computer yet, so <NONE> displays:

3. Your printers are now configured and you will now be able to print barcode labels, exit labels, and receipts in Maui.

4. Fulfillment Receipt Printer - MACOS:

  • If your store uses a separate printer to print order tickets to the Fulfillment Room, select the "Fulfillment Printer" toggle to set up your Fulfillment Printer:

5. Fulfillment Printer - iPad:

  • Select the "Use second printer for fulfillment tickets" toggle. This will open up a second option for a fulfillment receipt printer.

Configuring Printers for Windows Desktops and Microsoft Surface Pros

  1. Log into the Maui app on your Windows desktop. Do not log into the browser version of Maui (app.flowhub.com).

  2. On your external keyboard, select the "Alt" key.

    • If you do not have an external keyboard, follow the below steps to enable the Windows On Screen Keyboard:

      • Locate the Settings menu from the Start bar, or search for Settings on your desktop.

      • Once in Settings, navigate to "Accessibility."

      • Under the "Interaction" section in Accessibility, select "Keyboard."

      • Ensure that "Sticky Keys" is set to OFF and On-Screen Keyboard is set to "ON."

      • Navigate back to the Maui app, and use the On Screen Keyboard to select the "Alt" key. Continue with the rest of the steps below.

  3. The "Alt" key will bring up a menu above the Maui app in the upper left corner with "File," "Edit," and "Printers":

  4. Select "Printers."

  5. The Printer Settings menu will appear.

    • Highlight "receipts," then select your receipt printer from the list.

    • Highlight "labels," then select your label printer from the list.

    • If you're using a second receipt printer for your fulfillment room, highlight "Fulfillment", then select your fulfillment receipt printer from the list.

  6. Select "Print Test Receipt" and "Print Test Exit Label" to test that Maui prints each as expected.

    • Please note that the Test Receipt and Test Label will be default versions that do not reflect the name of your dispensary or any of its settings.
