Flowhub Marketing makes it easy to reach your customers with targeted, personalized emails and push notifications (if they have a loyalty pass downloaded to their phones). This guide walks you through building and launching your first campaign, with best practices to help you get great results from day one.
Watch the video below on Marketing Campaigns.
Navigate to the Campaign Builder
From the Flowhub navigation, go to Marketing > Campaigns.
Click New Campaign in the top-right corner to open the Campaign Builder.
Complete Your Campaign Details
The Campaign Details section helps you stay organized internally and ensures your campaign tracks correctly.
Campaign Name
Use a clear naming convention such as:
[Deal or Theme] – [Segment] – [Month Year]
Example: “Concentrates Flash Sale, VIP Customers, May 2025.”
This makes reporting easier over time and keeps your analytics clean.
Description
This will add to internal visibility. Include:
What the promotion or message is about
Any supporting context for your team
Notes about timing or goals
Linked Discount Code (Optional)
Link a promotion to measure attributed sales.
A discount code can only be linked to one campaign at a time.
If you regularly reuse the same deal, create a duplicate version specifically for this campaign so you don’t tie up your primary promotion in multiple workflows
If you attempt to use the same code twice, Flowhub will show an error.
Campaign Timing
For now, campaigns will send immediately upon clicking “Launch Campaign”. Scheduled sends are on Flowhub’s roadmap for early 2026.
Choose Your Audience
Under Audience, you’ll select the customer segments you want to target.
We recommend starting with Flowhub’s Suggested Segments, then customizing from there based on your campaign goals.
If a customer appears in more than one selected segment, Flowhub automatically dedupes them to ensure they receive only one message.
💡Tip: The more specific your segmentation, the better your results. Targeted campaigns tend to improve deliverability, increase open and click-through rates, and drive higher attributed sales. Avoid sending broad blasts unless necessary; relevance always wins.
Build Your Messaging
Your campaign can include email, push notifications, or both.
Email Messaging
Use the built-in email editor and visit our Email Messaging Help Hub (link) for guidance.
💡Tips:
Use one clear CTA per email
Create urgency with time-based language (e.g., “Ends Sunday”, “This week only”)
Keep your content scannable
Align messaging directly to the promotion you’re running
Push Notifications
Push notifications are an effective way to reach engaged loyalty members. Customers must have your Loyalty Pass saved to their phone. This gives you permission to send push notifications.
💡Tips:
Keep it short and punchy
Use action-oriented language
Include urgency when relevant
🤓 Examples:
“Today only: 20% off carts. Show this message in-store.”
“VIP early access starts now.”
Send or Save Your Campaign
When your targeting and messages look good, you can:
Send Campaign: Your campaign sends immediately.
Save Draft: Your work is saved for later. Drafts appear on the Campaigns page with a Draft status tag.
Track Campaign Performance
Flowhub automatically tracks attribution, engagement, and sales impact.
Attributed Sales
Shows the total sales attributed to this campaign. Flowhub uses a 30-day attribution window — if a customer redeems the linked promotion within 30 days, it counts toward this campaign.
If the same customer receives multiple campaigns within 30 days, the most recent campaign will receive attribution.
Engagement Summary (inside each campaign)
You’ll see top-level performance metrics, including:
Conversions
Number of transactions tied to your linked discount code.
Message Performance (Sent, Delivered, Opened, Clicked)
Understanding Campaign End Dates
Once launched, your campaign will show an End Date one month after it sends.
Customizable attribution windows and flexible end dates are planned for 2026.
Best Practices & Warnings
#1. Keep Your Team Aligned
Before sending a campaign, make sure:
Budtenders know the promotion details
They understand how customers will redeem the offer
You’ve communicated the timing internally
Clear communication ensures a smooth customer experience at checkout.
#2. Avoid Over-Messaging
Sending too many messages:
Hurts deliverability
Fatigues your audience
Makes performance analytics harder to interpret
A steady, thoughtful cadence leads to better long-term results.
#3. Use Flowhub Marketing to drive more sales
Flowhub Marketing is best for:
Promotions
Flash sales
Targeted audience outreach
Loyalty-driven engagement
It’s great for core marketing workflows and campaign execution.
Congrats! 🎉 You’re ready to widen your reach with campaigns!
