Cashier ID Scanning is a built-in feature in the Flowhub Maui POS that enables you to scan a checked-in customer’s ID at the register to instantly open their cart — no searching, no extra steps.
This feature is designed for high-throughput dispensaries that need to move quickly and efficiently, especially during peak times like 4/20.
With a single scan of a customer’s government-issued driver’s license or state ID, you can instantly open a checked-in customer's cart from the queue in the Cashier view.
🔒 Note: This feature does not support passports. If a customer presents a passport, you will need to search for them manually or check them in via Greet.
This speeds up your busiest workflows, keeps your lines moving, and helps your team stay compliant with minimal effort.
How It Works
In Maui POS, open the Cashier view.
Important: Make sure the queue sidebar is open. If the queue is closed, scanning an ID will be interpreted as a product scan, not a customer lookup.
With the queue open, scan the barcode on the customer’s driver’s license or state-issued ID.
Flowhub will locate the matching customer in the queue and automatically open their cart in the Cashier window.

Troubleshooting & FAQs
Why doesn’t anything happen when I scan an ID?
Check that the queue sidebar is open in Cashier view. If it’s closed, Flowhub will treat the scan as a product barcode scan.
Make sure the ID is a driver’s license or state-issued ID — passports will not work.
Ensure your scanner supports 2D barcodes.
Check that the ID barcode is clean and visible.
Can I still use Greet?
Yes! Greet can still be used to check customers in — this feature simply gives you faster cart access at the register.
