Flowhub Cashier ID Scanning enables employees to quickly and securely scan customers' IDs, eliminating the need to manually create a customer profile. This helps your team move quickly and reduces user error
This feature is only available with the Greet+Stash subscription. If you are unable to check in a customer using the steps in this article, please contact Flowhub's Product Support team to enable this feature.
Check In a Customer via Cashier ID Scanning
In Maui POS, navigate to the Cashier view.
Important: Make sure the queue sidebar is open. If the queue is closed, scanning an ID will be interpreted as a product scan, not a customer lookup.
With the queue open, scan the barcode on the customer’s driver’s license or state-issued ID.
Flowhub will either:
Locate the matching customer in the queue and automatically open their cart in the Cashier window
If the customer is new to the store, the Edit Profile page will appear, allowing you to add the new Customer to Flowhub.
If the customer has been to the store previously and their ID was scanned previously / State ID info in the profile matches what’s on the ID, the customer will be checked into the store.
Supported Hardware
Cashier ID Scanning requires a 2D barcode scanner. Many dispensaries already use compatible models.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What type of IDs can we scan?
You can use state IDs that contain a unique scannable barcode. Passports cannot be scanned at this time.
What hardware is needed for this?
Just a scanner and the register!
Can I still use the Greet app?
Yes! Greet can still be used to check customers in — this feature simply provides faster access to your cart at the register.
