In this article, we'll guide you through enabling tipping for Aeropay payments. Tipping is configured in two places — your Aeropay portal and your Flowhub store settings. Once both are set up, shoppers can add a tip when they pay by bank at Ecommerce checkout, and the tip carries through to the order in Flowhub.
Note: If you use Aeropay for in-store payments only, you just need to complete Step 1. Flowhub ingests your Aeropay tip configuration automatically when the payment is collected — there's nothing further to set up in Flowhub.
Before You Begin
An active Aeropay account with access to the Aeropay portal

Aeropay (Pay by Bank) enabled as a payment method on your Flowhub Ecommerce site
Step 1: Configure Tips in the Aeropay Portal
Complete this step whether you use Aeropay in-store, on Ecommerce, or both. This is your source configuration.
Log in to the Aeropay merchant portal at portal.aero.inc.
On the Payments page, select the dollar sign icon in the upper-right toolbar to open your tip configuration.
In the Tip Configuration window, toggle Enable tips on.
Under Select Location, choose the location you're configuring.
Set your tip options. You can configure percentages or fixed dollar amounts using the Percentage toggle, then enter your three values.
Select Save.
💡 Tip: Tip settings are configured per location. If you operate more than one location, repeat these steps for each one.
Your tips are now configured in Aeropay. If you use Flowhub Ecommerce, continue to Step 2 — the settings you add in Flowhub should match what you just configured here.
Step 2: Configure Tipping in Flowhub
Complete this step only if you want shoppers to add tips on your Flowhub Ecommerce site.
In Flowhub Cashier, open the store menu in the upper right and select Account, then Store settings.
Select Payments.
Under ACH Ecomm Tipping, enable Let customers add a tip at ecomm checkout.
Choose your Tip options — Percentage or Fixed Amount — and enter the amounts for Option 1, Option 2, and Option 3.
Optionally, choose a Preselected for the shopper amount. You can suggest an option such as 15%, or leave the default set to No Tip.
Select Save All Settings.
💡 Tip: Match these settings to what you configured in the Aeropay portal so shoppers see consistent tip options and your tip reporting stays clean across in-store and online orders.
What the Shopper Sees at Ecommerce Checkout
At checkout, under How would you like to pay?, the shopper selects Pay by bank.

Their linked bank account displays, along with the Add a tip options you configured.
The shopper selects a tip. The tip appears as its own line in the order summary and is included in the Total Due.
The shopper selects PLACE ORDER.
💡 Tip: Tipping is only available when the shopper pays by bank. If they choose I'll pay when I arrive, no tip options display at checkout — your budtender can still collect a tip in Cashier at pickup.
Completing the Order in Flowhub
The prepaid order arrives in the Order Ahead tab in Cashier. Open the order and set the status to Ready, then select Fulfill Order.
At the register, you'll see that the prepayment has been authorized for the order total, and the tip is reflected in the cart as Tip (Prepaid) ACH.
Enter your PIN and select Check Out to complete the sale. No further payment is collected — the order and the tip are already prepaid.
💡 Tip: Because the prepayment is a preauthorization, funds — including the tip — aren't pulled from the shopper's bank account until you finalize the sale in Cashier.

Do I have to configure tips in both Aeropay and Flowhub?
For Ecommerce, yes. Tip options must be set up in both the Aeropay portal and Flowhub store settings.
For in-store Aeropay payments, no. Configuring tips in the Aeropay portal is all that's required — Flowhub ingests that configuration automatically when the payment is collected.
Which settings control the tip amounts a shopper sees online?
The tip options displayed at Ecommerce checkout come from your Flowhub ACH Ecomm Tipping settings. The Aeropay portal configuration governs how the tip is processed with the payment. This is why the two should match.
Tip options aren't appearing at Ecommerce checkout. What should I check?
Confirm tips are enabled in the Aeropay portal for the correct location.
Confirm Let customers add a tip at ecomm checkout is enabled in Flowhub and that you selected Save All Settings.
Confirm the shopper selected Pay by bank. Tip options don't display for I'll pay when I arrive orders.
Confirm Aeropay (Pay by Bank) is enabled as a payment method on your Ecommerce site.
What happens if my Aeropay and Flowhub tip options don't match?
Shoppers see the options configured in Flowhub. Mismatched settings won't block a payment, but they can make your tip amounts inconsistent between your online and in-store experience, so we recommend keeping them aligned.
Can shoppers enter their own tip amount?
Yes. In addition to the preset options you configure, shoppers can select Other at checkout to enter a different amount.
Is the tip charged if the shopper never picks up the order?
No. The prepayment is a preauthorization, so no funds — including the tip — move until the sale is finalized in Cashier. If the order is canceled or never completed, nothing is charged.
What if the order total changes after the shopper prepaid with a tip?
The tip is included in the preauthorized amount. If the total ends up higher — for example, an item was added — Cashier alerts you and you can either select Increase Preauthorized Amount or collect the difference with another tender.
