Written by Valerie

Flowhub's AeroPay in-store integration makes it easy to collect ACH payments directly at checkout. In this article, we'll guide you through using AeroPay in-store so your team can offer customers a seamless bank-based payment option at the register.

šŸ’”Tip: The AeroPay in-store integration requires backend enablement. Contact Flowhub Product Support to get AeroPay activated on your account before the Charge Aeropay option appears at checkout. Once enabled, the Charge Aeropay button is available to all users — no additional permissions are required.

Charge AeroPay at Checkout

When AeroPay is enabled on your account, a Charge Aeropay button appears alongside your other payment methods on the Collect Payment screen.

  1. Add items to the customer's cart and select Collect Payment.

  2. Select Charge Aeropay from the available payment options.

  3. Enter your PIN and select Checkout.

  4. A QR code displays on screen. This QR code is the payment link generated for the transaction.

Share the Payment Link

Once the QR code is generated, there are three ways to get the payment link to the customer.

Scan in Person

If your register has a swivel or customer-facing screen, the customer can scan the QR code directly from the display.

Print to Receipt

Select Print to send the QR code to your receipt printer. Hand the printed receipt to the customer so they can scan it with their phone.

Text to Phone

Send the payment link directly to the customer's phone via text message.

  • If a phone number is already on the customer's profile, it will be pre-filled automatically.

  • To send to a different number, update the phone number field before sending.

Customer Payment Experience

After the customer receives the payment link, they complete the payment on their own device. Here is what the customer will experience:

  1. The customer opens the payment link (by scanning the QR code or selecting the link in a text message).

  2. AeroPay prompts the customer to log in to their AeroPay account.

  3. AeroPay sends a verification code to the customer's phone for account security.

  4. The customer reviews the transaction amount on the Authorize Payment screen and selects Authorize Payment.

  5. Once authorized, Flowhub automatically detects the completed payment and closes out the transaction.

    • No manual confirmation is required from the budtender.

The completed transaction will display the payment method as ACH.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get AeroPay enabled on my account?

  • The AeroPay in-store integration requires backend enablement. Contact Flowhub Product Support to request activation. Once enabled, the Charge Aeropay button will appear on the Collect Payment screen for all users.

What does "ACH" mean on the completed transaction?

  • ACH stands for Automated Clearing House. It indicates the payment was processed through a direct bank-to-bank transfer rather than a debit or credit card.

What if the customer does not have an AeroPay account?

  • When the customer follows the payment link, AeroPay will guide them through creating an account and linking a bank account before authorizing the payment.

Can I send the payment link to a different phone number than what is on the customer's profile?

  • Yes. When you select the text-to-phone option, you can update the phone number field to send the link to any number.

What happens if the customer does not complete the payment?

  • If the customer does not authorize the payment, the preauthorization automatically expires after 3 days (72 hours). No funds are taken from the customer's account, and the transaction will not be completed.
