Flowhub Maui's Kiosk experience allows your customers to conveniently place in-store orders at a touchscreen tablet in your dispensary.

Enabling Kiosk for your Dispensary

In order to log into Kiosk, your dispensary needs to have Kiosk turned on for your store by a Flowhub employee. Please reach out to help@flowhub.com for more information.

Once Kiosk has been enabled, setup is easy with a few basic steps. Each step is linked below with further instructions.

Enabling Kiosk: Hardware

Flowhub Maui's Kiosk product is a browser-based application that runs from the URL kiosk.flowhub.com.

Flowhub currently recommends iPads and Windows Surface Pros to run Flowhub Kiosk for ease of setup and user experience.

  • Android tablets that are running Android 11 have hardware limitations that will prevent you from installing the Kiosk website as an app on the device, and they are not recommended.

Regardless of which device you choose, the hardware selected to run Kiosk must have the capability to connect to the internet and use either Google Chrome or Safari as a web browser. You'll use the browser to add the kiosk.flowhub.com webpage to your desktop as a shortcut to run the website as an "app" on the kiosk.

If you need to procure new hardware for your Kiosk and would like to purchase with our third party hardware provider to ensure setup support and troubleshooting service, you can find information on Venture Sourcing Group here.

Kiosk Setup on iPad

  1. Ensure Kiosk has been enabled for your dispensary by a Flowhub employee.

  2. Open the Safari web browser on your iPad.

  3. Navigate to kiosk.flowhub.com.

  4. Select the Share button to the right of the URL in the top bar of Safari, then select "Add to Home Screen."

  5. Then select "Add." This will "install" the Kiosk webpage as an easily accessible "app on your iPad's home screen.

6. Optional, but recommended:

To "lock" the Kiosk screen on the iPad so your customers aren't able to exit the app and go to different websites/apps on the iPad, you may enable Apple's iOS Guided Access setting, which can put the iPad into a "kiosk mode." Guided Access allows you to set up a password to take the website out of guided access mode when needed.

Kiosk Setup on Windows Device or other Computer

  1. Ensure Kiosk has been enabled for your dispensary by a Flowhub employee.

  2. Open the Google Chrome web browser on your computer.

  3. Navigate to kiosk.flowhub.com.

  4. Next to the URL bar on the right, select the icon that looks like a computer with an arrow pointing down.

    • Whether or not this icon appears in Chrome is dependent on the hardware you're using. This may not be available on Android tablet devices, which is why they are not recommended for Kiosk.

  5. You'll be prompted to Install the website as an app. Select "Install."

Setting up the Kiosk App

Creating Kiosk Logins

In order to create your login(s) for Kiosk for the first time and set everything up, you'll need to set up "Users" for your Kiosk in Flowhub Maui in the Employees menu.

Kiosk Users will need to be:

  • specific to each Kiosk at each Location

    • For example, if you have three Kiosks, you'll set up three Kiosk User logins in Flowhub. This allows you to track which sales come from which Kiosk in your reporting.

    • If you have three Kiosks at three different store locations, you'd be setting up nine Kiosk Logins in Flowhub.

  • use an email address that exists/can be accessed/logged into

    • You'll need to access the email to retrieve the temporary password to log in to each Kiosk for the first time.

  • ✨ PRO TIP ✨ If you'd prefer to not set up additional email addresses for each Kiosk, and you use Gmail as your email provider, you may append "+1", "+2" to the end of an existing email address to create additional aliases.

To set up your Kiosk users:

  1. Log into Flowhub Maui via the desktop app or via the browser at app.flowhub.com.

  2. Open the menu on the left side of the screen and navigate to "Employees."

  3. In the upper right corner, select "New User."

  4. Give each Kiosk a First and Last Name and enter the email address associated with the Kiosk login.

  5. Under "Role and Store Assignments," select the Store for the Kiosk. If Kiosk is enabled for that store, you'll see "Kiosk" as an available Role to assign.

    • If you do not see "Kiosk" in the dropdown for available Roles, first check that the Store is selected on the right before checking the dropdown.

    • If your Store is selected and "Kiosk" does not appear as an available Role, reach out to help@flowhub.com to inquire about Kiosk being enabled for your dispensary.

  6. Select "Save" in the upper right corner to create the Kiosk login.

  7. Check the email associated with the Kiosk login, and use the temporary password in the "Flowhub Maui Account Setup email" to log into kiosk.flowhub.com for the first time. This will immediately log you into the Kiosk; you won't be prompted to set a new password.

  8. ✨ PRO TIP ✨ : If you'd like to reset the password for the Kiosk User (i.e. not use the temporary password forever), you can do so by entering the Kiosk User email username and temporary password at app.flowhub.com (instead of kiosk.flowhub.com). You will then be prompted to set a new password at that time.

  9. Kiosk login is now set up and can be used to log in to this kiosk. Repeat the above steps for every Kiosk that needs to be set up.

Selecting Inventory Rooms for Display on the Kiosk

Just like for online menus/ecommerce integrations, you have control over which For Sale Rooms should display inventory on your Kiosks.

  1. Log into Flowhub Maui via the desktop app or via the browser at app.flowhub.com.

  2. Open the menu on the left side of the screen and navigate to "Rooms."

  3. Find a For Sale Room you'd like to display on your Kiosk, and select "Edit" on the Room.

  4. Select the "Inventory Appears in Flowhub Kiosk" checkbox to have inventory items associated to this Room in Flowhub appear on your Kiosk.

  5. Select "Save" to save your changes.
