In Flowhub Maui, you're able to set up a Product to sell by Weight (also known as "deli style" or "bulk") or by a Prepacked Weight Unit, simply by toggling the "Sell by Weight" checkbox on the Product details page.
When "Sell by Weight" is selected on a Product, you are telling Flowhub: "I sell this product in bulk / by weight."
Setting Up a Product as Prepacked
Use the pop out menu on the left side to navigate to Inventory, then select "Products" at the top of the page.
Search for the Product you wish to set up as Prepacked, then select "Edit" or select "New Product" to build a new prepacked product.
Enter the unit weight into the "Weight/Volume" field.
For example, if this product is sold in 7g units, enter "7" into the Weight/Volume field, then select "Grams" as the Unit of Measure (UOM).
If the Weight/Volume field is grayed out/ not editable:
You'll need to deselect the "Sell by Weight" checkbox above the Inventory Type. This will allow you to enter a Weight/Volume for the prepacked amount, and sell the item as a prepacked unit.
Setting Up a Product as Deli Style / Bulk / by Weight at time of Sale
Use the pop out menu on the left side to navigate to Inventory, then select "Products" at the top of the page.
Search for the Product you wish to set up as Bulk, then select "Edit", or select "New Product" to build a new bulk product.
Leave the Weight/Volume field blank. It will be marked as Required, but you will be able to override this in the next step.
Check/Select the "Sell by Weight" checkbox above Inventory Type to mark the item as a bulk item. Note: when "Sell by Weight" is selected, you must use a Price Profile.
This will also gray out the Weight/Volume field and no longer make it Required. This product is now set up to be sold bulk / deli-style.
