Flowhub MCP Prompt Ideas

Ideas and starter prompts to help you get the most out of your Flowhub AI assistant.

Written by Madison Bunce

Your Flowhub AI assistant can pull reports, flag inventory issues, and take action on your behalf, all through plain-language prompts. In this article, we'll guide you through a collection of ready-to-use prompts, so your team can start getting value from the assistant right away.

Before You Start

These prompts only work once Flowhub is connected to your AI assistant. If you haven't set that up yet, or you're not sure the connection is active, start here:

How It Works

You've just connected Flowhub to your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini). The best part: there's nothing new to learn. No commands, no codes, no special syntax. Just talk to it the way you'd talk to a coworker who knows your store, ask for what you want in plain language, and it figures out the rest.

This collection is here for inspiration. Browse the sections below, copy any prompt that catches your eye, and paste it into your assistant. Once you see how it responds, you'll start coming up with your own prompts.

Everything here works within your existing Flowhub permissions. The assistant can only do what you can already do, and any change it makes is shown to you for approval first.

View Sales and Performance

Get a read on the business in seconds.

  • "What were my total sales yesterday, and how does that compare to last week?"

  • "What are my top 10 best-selling products this month?"

  • "Which categories are bringing in the most revenue right now?"

  • "Break down my sales by payment type for the last 30 days."

Catch Inventory Problems Early

Let the assistant flag what needs your attention before it becomes costly.

  • "What's running low and might sell out this week?"

  • "Which products haven't sold at all in the last 30 days?"

  • "What's the total value of my current inventory right now?"

  • "Show me everything on the sales floor in the flower category."

Understand Your Customers

Turn transaction data into insight.

  • "How many new customers did I get last month versus returning ones?"

  • "What does my average customer spend per visit?"

  • "When are my busiest days and times?"

Coach Your Team

See who's performing well and where to offer support.

  • "Which employee sold the most last week?"

  • "What's the average basket size per employee this month?"

Track Down a Specific Sale

Locate individual transactions without scrolling through your full sales history.

  • "Pull up this morning's receipts over $200."

  • "Find sales paid with debit yesterday."

Take Action (With Your Approval)

The assistant doesn't only look things up. It can take action for you, too. Before any change goes through, it shows you exactly what it plans to do and waits for your confirmation. You're always in control.

  • "Add a new product: [brand], [name], [category], priced at [$]."

  • "Move 50 units of [product] from back stock to the sales floor."

  • "Create a 20% off deal on all edibles for this weekend."

  • "Set up a tiered flower price profile: $40 eighth, $75 quarter, $140 half."

  • "Add a $2 round-up fee for carts over $50."

Changing a lot at once? The assistant uses a safe, staged process. It shows you a preview of every item it would touch, and nothing happens until you confirm.

  • "Mark down everything from [brand] by 15%. Show me the list before applying."

Go Bigger When You're Ready

Once you're comfortable, string ideas together and let the assistant do the heavy lifting.

  • "Compare this month's revenue, margin, and discount totals to the same month last year, and tell me what changed."

  • "Find my slowest-moving inventory and suggest which items to put on a clearance deal."

  • "Build a weekly performance summary: top categories, top budtenders, new vs. returning customers, and inventory that's running low."

  • "Look at which deals are actually getting redeemed and which ones aren't worth keeping."

  • "Identify products where my cost is high relative to how fast they sell."

Get more out of every prompt

Be specific about time

"Last week," "this month," "year to date," or exact dates all work. The clearer you are, the sharper the answer.

Keep the conversation going

The assistant remembers what you asked earlier in the same conversation. After a report, try "now break that down by store" or "why did that drop?"

Ask it to reshape the answer

Try "put that in a table," "explain it in plain English," or "give me the top 3 takeaways."

Ask the assistant for guidance

Not sure where to start? Try "What can you help me with using my Flowhub data?" and it will point you in a direction.

What the Assistant Cannot Do

A few things stay in Flowhub and are not available through the assistant:

  • Ring up sales, run checkout, manage cash drawers, or check customers in.

  • Create users or change permissions.

  • Edit taxes, stores, rooms, or categories (the assistant can show you how these are set up, but changes happen in Flowhub).

Everything it can do mirrors your own Flowhub access, and every change is yours to approve first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to use special commands or syntax?

  • No. Write your prompts in plain, everyday language. The assistant interprets what you mean and pulls the right data from Flowhub.

Can the assistant make changes without my permission?

  • No. Before any change takes effect, the assistant shows you a preview and waits for your confirmation. Nothing happens until you approve it.

What if I ask for something the assistant can't do?

  • It will let you know and, when possible, suggest an alternative. You can also try "What can you help me with using my Flowhub data?" for a guided overview.

Does the assistant work with more than one store?

  • The assistant works within your existing Flowhub permissions. If your account has access to multiple stores, you can specify a store in your prompt (for example, "Show me sales from [store name] this week").
