There may be items in inventory that have special promotional or sample pricing that a dispensary would like to sell to staff or to consumers, without having those items appear on an online menu. Here's how to handle those use cases in Flowhub Maui.
Separate Samples into their own Room
First, create a Room in Flowhub where Samples can be separate from the rest of the inventory available for Sale.
Open the menu on the left side and navigate to Rooms.
Select "New Room" in upper right corner.
Create a "Samples" Room.
If you'd like to sell Samples out of this Room, mark the Room as For Sale. We'll hide this room from online menus in the next step.
If you don't plan to sell Samples, mark the Room as Not for Sale.
Next, move any Sample inventory into the Samples Room.
When creating new Sample Inventory, you can select "Samples" as the Room to place the inventory under "Assign to Rooms."
If the Samples are already in your Inventory, select the inventory item then select "Move Rooms" on the right side to move the inventory to the Samples Room.
Communicate with Third Party ECommerce Integrators about which Room to Display on Menus
Even if you've created a "For Sale" Samples Room, your ecommerce provider (such as Weedmaps, Dispense, Dutchie, Jane, or others) should allow you to hide that Room from available inventory for sale on your online menu.
Reach out to your ecommerce provider's support team for assistance with this step if needed.
Selling Samples: Add your Samples Room to a Drawer
The last step will be to edit your Drawers so that you'll be able to sell out of the Samples room.
To sell out of an existing Drawer, edit the Drawer (note that the Drawer will need to be Closed first before it can be Edited):
Use the menu on the left side to navigate to Drawers.
Select the Closed Drawer from which you'd like to sell Samples (or, create a new Drawer just for selling Samples if you prefer).
Select "Edit" on the right side under "Count and Open."
If "Edit" is not available - the Drawer must be Closed first.
Add the Samples Room to the Drawer and select Save.
Users assigned to the Drawer will now be able to sell Samples from the Samples Room in Cashier.
