Flowhub Deals makes it quick and easy to run discounts, BOGOs, and bundles across your stores from one screen. In this article, we'll guide you through the Deals page and the settings every deal shares, so your team can build any promotion with confidence.

Check out the video below to learn about Deals.

Navigate to the Deals Page

  1. Navigate to Deals in the module menu at the top left of the window.

  2. Select the Deals tab. Your deal list displays, along with a Loyalty tab for point programs.

💡 Tip: The Deals page manages every deal for every store you have access to. The Store filter narrows the list when you only want one location.

Review Your Deal List

The Deals page lists your deals in a sortable table, with a details panel on the right side of the window.

  1. Review the columns to compare your deals at a glance:

    • Name — the deal name, with the stores it applies to underneath, such as All stores or Beach Please (FL). An icon marks the deal type.

    • Type — Cart Subtotal Discount, Product Discount, Buy X, Get Y, or Bundle.

    • Amount — the discount value, such as 20% or $5.

    • Status — an Active or Inactive badge.

    • Start and End — the dates the deal runs. A dash means the deal has no end date.

    • Promo Code — the code a customer or budtender enters, or a dash when none is required.

  2. Select any column heading to sort by that column.

  3. Select a deal to open its details panel.

Filter and Search Your Deals

  1. Enter a deal name or promo code in the Search deals by name or promo code field.

  2. Narrow the list further with the four filters:

    • Status — Active or Inactive.

    • Discount type — Bundle, Buy X Get Y, Cart Subtotal, or Product Discount.

    • Loyalty deal — Any loyalty-related, Loyalty pass only, or Exclude loyalty-related.

    • Store — any store you have access to.

  3. Select Clear to remove all filters and return to the full list.

  4. Select the three-dot menu below the table to change how many deals display per page: 10, 20, 50, or 100.

Review a Deal's Details

Selecting a deal opens a read-only summary on the right side of the window, grouped into sections.

  1. Select a deal in the list. The details panel displays:

    • Status — whether the deal is currently active.

    • Discount — the deal type and amount.

    • Limitations — customer type, order types, stores, customer groups, and uses per transaction.

    • Timeframe — days available, start date, and end date.

    • Additional — promo code, exclusivity, pass-holder limits, third-party loyalty, and any minimum required subtotal.

    • Menus — whether the deal is promoted on your ecommerce menus.

  2. Select Edit to open the deal in the deal form.

  3. Select the copy icon to duplicate the deal, or the trash icon to delete it.

💡 Tip: Duplicating a deal is the fastest way to build a second version of a promotion you already trust. Duplicate it, rename it, then change only what needs to differ.

Choose a Deal Type

Every new deal starts with a name and a type. The type you select determines which settings display further down the form.

  1. Select New deal in the top right of the Deals page.

  2. Enter a Deal Name. A name is required.

    • Use a name your budtenders recognize on the register, such as $5 off $40 or Wednesday Edibles 20%.

  3. Select a Customer Type:

    • Med or Rec — the deal applies to both medical and recreational customers. This is the default.

    • Med — medical customers only.

    • Rec — recreational customers only.

  4. Select one of the four Deal type cards:

    • Cart subtotal — a percentage or dollar amount off the whole cart. Use this for order-level offers such as $5 off a $40 order.

    • Product discount — a discount on specific items. Use this for category, brand, or product sales such as 20% off all Edibles.

    • Buy & get — a buy X, get Y offer. Use this for BOGOs and penny deals.

    • Bundle — a set of items sold together at one price. Use this for prepacked kits and mix-and-match sets. Bundles can only be set up for one store at a time because they use that store's specific inventory.

💡 Tip: Changing the deal type clears anything you have already entered in the sections below. Select your type before you fill in the rest of the form.

Set Deal Limitations

Deal Limitations control who qualifies for the deal and where it applies. Every deal type includes this section, and it starts collapsed with a summary such as all order types, stores, and customer groups.

  1. Select the Deal Limitations heading to expand the section.

  2. Select the Limit By Order Type checkbox to restrict the deal to certain order types, then select from In Store, Pickup, Kiosk, Ecomm, and Delivery.

    • Leave the checkbox clear to apply the deal to every order type.

  3. Under State / store, select a state to narrow the store list, then select the stores this deal applies to.

    • Leave both set to All to apply the deal across every store.

  4. Select a Customer group to restrict the deal to a group you have already created, such as Veterans, Locals, or Employees.

  5. Select Exclude groups to name any group the deal should skip.

💡 Tip: Bundle deals select a single store in the Customer Buys section instead, so their Deal Limitations section has no State / store option.

Set the Deal Timeframe

Timeframe controls when the deal runs. It starts collapsed with a summary such as every day, ongoing.

  1. Select the Timeframe heading to expand the section.

  2. Confirm the Start Date. This defaults to today's date and is required.

  3. Choose an End Date option:

    • Indefinite — the deal runs until you turn it off. This is the default.

    • Set end date — the deal stops after the date you enter.

  4. Select Days of Week Available to limit the deal to certain days, such as Wednesday only.

    • Leave this set to Every Day to run the deal all week.

  5. Select the Restrict by time of day checkbox to set a daily window, then enter a start and end time under Times Available.

  6. Select the Weekday Restriction checkbox for a window that crosses midnight or spans several days. Set a Start day and time, then an End day and time.

    • A message will display reading "Weekday Restriction is active. Days Available and Restrict by Time are ignored while Weekday Restriction is set."

    • Clear the checkbox to return to the Days Available and Restrict by Time options.

💡 Tip: Use Restrict by time of day for a happy hour that starts and ends on the same day. Use Weekday Restriction for a window such as Friday 6:00 PM through Sunday 11:59 PM.

Set Your Discount Type and Amount

This is where you choose what kind of discount to give and how much. The section's name and position change with the deal type you selected, and so do the options inside it.

  1. Find the discount section for your deal type:

  2. Select your discount type using the lists below.

  3. Select eligible products if applicable.

💡 Tip: A cart subtotal deal offers two discount types. The other three deal types offer five, because they discount individual items, and a cart subtotal deal discounts the order as a whole.

Discount Types for a Cart Subtotal Deal

A cart subtotal deal discounts the whole order, so it only offers the two types that make sense against an order total.

  1. Select a Discount type:

    • % off — takes a percentage off the cart subtotal. This is the default.

    • $ off — takes a flat dollar amount off the cart subtotal.

  2. Enter the amount.

  3. Optionally exclude items from the discount.

Discount Types for Product Discount, Buy & Get, and Bundle Deals

These three deal types discount individual items, so each offers the same five choices. A Bundle deal words them slightly differently, shown in brackets below.

  1. Select a discount type:

    • % discount [Bundle: At a % discount] — takes a percentage off each qualifying item. This is the default.

    • $ discount [Bundle: At a $ discount] — takes a flat dollar amount off each qualifying item.

    • set price [Bundle: At a new price] — replaces the item price with the amount you enter.

    • for $0.01 [Bundle: For $0.01] — sells the item for a penny.

    • for free [Bundle: For free] — sells the item at no charge.

      • The Set Minimum Price For Cannabis Items store setting will override this option when dealing with regulated, eligible items.

  2. Enter the amount, unless you selected a penny or free option.

Select Eligible Products

Product, Buy & Get, and Bundle deals allow you to select specific products or groups of products that qualify a customer for a deal. You can set up a deal for every product in your store or get as granular as setting up a deal for a single product.

Product Discount

  1. Select the number of items the customer has to buy to qualify for the deal.

    • For Prepackaged products, you can choose the number of products by group or the minimum number. In the example below, using 2 products, selecting the top option groups items into groups of 2 to get discounts on multiple eligible items in the cart, while selecting the bottom option makes the customer eligible once a minimum of 2 eligible items are added to the cart.

  2. Use the filters to narrow down eligible products.

  3. Use the copy button in the top right corner of the product picker to copy your filters and make tweaks to combine products.

✏️ Tip: The + Field filter matches products on a single attribute from your catalog, which makes it the most precise tool in the matcher. Reach for it when a category or brand filter is too broad, or when the thing you're targeting isn't a category at all.

Combine Conditions with AND and OR

Product discount and Buy & get deals both let you build more than one condition into a single deal. Two options control how those conditions relate, and they do very different jobs.

+ Add criteria (AND) narrows a single offer. It adds a second product matcher beside the first, and an item has to match both to qualify. Use this when one filter can't describe your target on its own.

+ Add part (OR) on a product discount, and + Add group (OR) on a buy and get, do the opposite. Each adds a separate offer inside the same deal, with its own product matchers and its own discount amount. A cart qualifies if it satisfies any part or group.

💡 Tip: Reach for OR when one promotion pays out differently by product, such as 20% off Edibles and 15% off Concentrates in a single deal. Reach for AND when every qualifying item has to clear two bars at once.

Set Usage Limits and Additional Settings

Additional Settings covers how often a deal can be used, whether a code is required, and how it behaves alongside your other deals.

  1. Enter your usage limits. Leave any field blank for unlimited.

    • Uses per transaction — how many times the deal can apply within one cart. Cart subtotal deals do not include this field.

    • Uses per customer — how many times one customer can redeem the deal.

    • Total uses — how many times the deal can be redeemed in total across all customers.

  2. Choose one option under Require Loyalty Pass or Require Promo Code:

    • Neither — the deal applies automatically when its conditions are met. This is the default.

    • Require Loyalty Pass — only customers holding a loyalty pass qualify.

    • Require Promo Code — a code must be entered at checkout. Enter the code in the Enter Promo Code field.

  3. Select the Require Minimum Cart Subtotal checkbox to set a spend threshold, then enter the dollar amount.

    • Cart subtotal deals add a Pre-Discount and Post-Discount choice, which sets whether the threshold is measured before or after other discounts apply.

  4. Select the Make this deal "Exclusive" checkbox to stop other deals from applying in the same cart.

    • This deal becomes the only one the customer receives at checkout.

    • The deal applies only when its discount is larger than the combined discounts of the other qualifying deals.

  5. Set When choosing which discount to apply to control which qualifying item the discount lands on:

    • Choose smallest available discount — the lowest-priced qualifying item. This is the default, and it matches standard BOGO behavior.

    • Choose largest available discount — the highest-priced qualifying item.

    • Cart subtotal and Bundle deals do not include this setting.

  6. Select the Allow purchase using loyalty points checkbox to let customers redeem the deal with points, then enter the point cost.

  7. Select the Require prior purchases checkbox to target a customer's first, second, third, or fourth purchase. Choose whether the count is across all stores or per store.

  8. Select the Promote this deal on Flowhub Ecommerce checkbox to surface the deal on your ecommerce menus, then enter a Description and Terms.

    • Bundle deals do not include this setting.

Save Your Deal

  1. Select the option that fits where you are:

    • Save as Active — saves the deal and turns it on. The deal applies at checkout right away.

    • Save as inactive — saves the deal and leaves it turned off. Use this while you are still building, or to pause a deal without deleting it.

    • Cancel — discards your changes and returns you to the deal list.

  2. Confirm the deal displays in your list with the status you expect.

  3. Test the deal in a cart.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which deal type should I use?

  • Match the type to what the customer does. Spending a threshold is Cart subtotal. Buying certain items is Product discount. Buying one item to earn another is Buy & get. Buying a fixed set is Bundle.

Can two deals apply to the same cart?

  • Yes, unless one of them is marked exclusive or you have No Stacking turned on in store settings. An exclusive deal becomes the only deal the customer receives, and only when its discount is larger than the others combined.

How do I pause a deal without losing my setup?

  • Open the deal, then select Save as inactive. Your settings are preserved, and you can reactivate the deal whenever you're ready.

Why isn't my deal applying at the register?

  • Confirm the deal carries an Active badge, today falls inside the timeframe, and the current order type and store are included in Deal Limitations. If the deal requires a promo code, the code must be entered at checkout.

What's the difference between Uses per transaction and Uses per customer?

  • Uses per transaction caps how many times the deal repeats inside one cart. Uses per customer caps how many separate visits a customer can use it on.

Can I reuse a deal I already built?

  • Yes. Select the deal in the list, then select the copy icon in the details panel. Rename the copy and adjust only what needs to change.

Do I need to refresh my menus after saving a deal?

  • Refresh your menus after you save a deal you are promoting on Flowhub Ecommerce. Your changes display for customers once the menus refresh.
