When the balance hits the number entered when you created the drawer, the trigger will appear as a red message on the register line item. This will then indicate to your team that the amount in the drawer is over the Drop Trigger Balance.

Drop Trigger Balance

  1. Navigate to Drawers from the menu in the upper left corner.

  2. Either Add a new drawer or Edit an open drawer

    • A drawer must be opened in order to edit the drawer

  3. Enter a Drop Trigger Balance

  4. Select Save in the upper right corner

  5. If the cash amount in the drawer is equal to or greater than the Drop Trigger Balance associated with the drawer, a notice will appear, alerting your staff that there is too much money in the drawer and to make a drop

  6. Toggle on Needs Drop to see only the drawers that have hit their Drop Trigger Balance

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

When does the trigger alert appear?

  • When the drawer’s cash hits or exceeds the Drop Trigger Balance, a red message appears on the register or drawer interface.

Does the trigger force a drop automatically?

  • No. It’s just a visual warning. The cashier or manager must still manually perform the drop action.

Can I change the trigger amount mid-shift?

  • Yes, if the drawer is editable (before it’s closed). But changing it will only affect future interactions, not past calculations.

Does the trigger persist after the drawer is closed and reopened?

  • Yes. The setting is part of the drawer configuration and will remain in place until edited.
